Depression

Depression is a significant contributor to the global burden of disease and affects people in all communities across the world. Today, depression is estimated to affect 350 million people. The World Mental Health Survey conducted in 17 countries found that on average about 1 in 20 people reported having an episode of depression in the previous year. Depressive disorders often start at a young age; they reduce people’s functioning and often are recurring. For these reasons, depression is the leading cause of disability worldwide in terms of total years lost due to disability.” – World Health Organisation

In Luke 4:18 Jesus says “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised” (NKJ)  If you are living with anxiety, depression, or any other form of mental distress – then these words should bring great hope. Jesus came for all of that – to heal you, to set you free.

Sometimes God does that through an instant miracle, at other times He heals through a journey – a process. This is one man’s story of recovery from severe depression. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cRnqkhGkyg
